Greetings and welcome to the vocation pages of the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton!

The primary call for each of us the call to holiness. God has called us into existence, He calls us to be members of His family through Baptism, and He calls us to live out this Baptismal grace in holiness of life. Within that call to holiness that we all share, we each have a particular call to serve each other and to serve God. Just as it takes many instruments in order to make a symphony, it takes all of the vocations working in harmony in order to accomplish the mission of Christ in the world. The particular vocations are Marriage, the Single Life, Religious Life, and the Priesthood. It is within one of these vocations that God wants me to achieve the holiness for which He made me and in which God will give me the happiness for which I long.

The Vocations Office exists to promote awareness of vocations and prayer for vocations in the Archdiocese of Edmonton. Our primary focus is to assist men who think that God may be calling them to the diocesan priesthood, but we also help men and women who are discerning a call to religious life.

Please remember that vocations are everybody's business. We need loving Marriages and strong families, we need dedicated single people, but we have a particular need for holy Priests and Religious men and women. Please pray for an increase in vocations.
