City of Edmonton Deaneries

(Edmonton North, South, East and West which includes St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Sturgeon Region and Spruce Grove, University of Alberta/St. Joseph's College, Neman Theological College)

Edmonton, St. Joseph's Basilica

  • THE POINT - The Point is a free event that provides a coffee house atmosphere, and a time for young adults (18-35) to gather and ask deep questions about life and meaning. All meetings are at O'Leary Hall (left of the main entrance) and all young adults 18-35 from across the Archdiocese are welcome to attend. The next POINT session will be on May 11th at 7:30 pm. Topic: Trees-Finding Purpose Between the Trees. Speaker: Brian Holdsworth.
  • Basilica Young Adults Portugese Classes for WYD. Join us every Sunday from 6:15-8:00 pm at the Parish Hall (first door east of Teddy's). Learn Brazilian Portugese for WYD Programs. Contact Fr. Dean Dowle, Associate Pastor at 780-488-7295.

Edmonton, St. Charles

  • Youth Nights are held every Monday (except for holidays) at the parish from 6:30-8:00. Drop by and bring a friend!

Edmonton, St. Dominic Savio

  • St. Dominic Savio Parish is hosting a Monthly Adoration the First Friday of the month.The evening will consist of a few praise and worship songs and silent Adoration, followed by Mass and Stations of the Cross.  Monthly Adoration takes place from 7-8pm.  For more information, click http://stdominicsavio.ca/2012/02/28/first-friday-evening-adoration/

Spruce Grove, Holy Trinity

  • XLT (EXALT), an evening of worship and adoration, held on the first Friday of every month to reflect the beautiful Catholic devotion of adoration on this day. Join Anaphora and a slew of guest speakers from 7-9pm. Come along and attend this fabulous event, and bring your youth too!  The next XLT session will take place on Sunday, May 13th at 7:30 pm with guest speaker Kris Scmidt (seminarian). Topic: Answering the Call.

Edmonton, St. Theresa's/Corpus Christi

  • St. Theresa's is seeking young adults to be CORE members to be a mentor to teens and minister to youth, while having a blast! CORE menbers can be any age over 18, requires a one year commitment, and consists of one bi-weekly meeting during the week, as well as attendance at at the Sun Life Teen Mass and Sun LifeNight. This is a great opportunity, particularly those wanting to be teachers in the Catholic school system, as reference letters are provided. Contact Angela for more information: 780-463-8646 x 2226.
  • The Catholic Girls League meeting, open to girls between the ages of 10 to 16, meet on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month.  Contact Angela for more information. 
  • Young Adults WYD 2013 monthly meetings:  We meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7pm at St. Theresa's parish meeting room.  For young adults aged 18-35 interested in attending World Youth Day 2013 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Contact Schyler (schypalm@hotmail.com).
  • Crux Young Adults (ages 18-35) meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month.  Young adults are invited to come for bible reflection, special event activities, fellowship, and discussion. Contact Matt Long (mrlong@ualberta.ca).
  • Christian Music Concert! Joe Zambon Summer Tour performing his new album ``Sleeper, Rise``, featuring opening act by Emma Fradd. Tuesday, May 15 from 7-9 pm. Doors open at 6:30 pm, concert runs from 7-9 pm in the MacNeil Hall (parish basement). Cost: by donation.  All ages are welcome!

Edmonton, St. Anthony's/St. Agnes

  • St. Anthony's/St. Agnes young adult group gathers every Saturday at the 5:00 Mass at St. Agnes. Contact Julie for more information.
  • Benefit Gala Cultural Evening with Development and Peace: Friday, May 11 at 6pm. Night of ethnic food and performances to raise awareness and funds for non-profit organizations working in disaster relief, development, safe ecological practices, peace-building, and more importantly to promote social justice around the world. Edmonton, University of Alberta - Catholic Students Association / St. Joseph's College Campus Ministry

  • Lectio Divina occurs every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in the downstairs seminar room in St. Joseph's College. Lectio Divna is a way of praying with scripture. Each week, the group looks at the readings for the coming Sunday.

  • Prayer and Praise will begin in the chapel; Wednesdays at lunch.
  • Theology of the Body for Teens -"Jeannette's Power Hour" will begin Wednesday, September 29 - after school until 5:30pm.
